It’s been quite a while since the first CorelDraw astounded me, and now the 12th, with a three-modules-graphic-suite has done it again!
This new version has its focus on smart behavior, it has a new characteristic called Smart Drawing tool. For those of us who don’t have a steady pulse, this tool will try to convert our attempts into neat geometrical figures. Draw a something that might resemble a rectangle and the software will turn it into a true rectangle with perfect right angles. The very same thing happens with circular shapes, I think it could be faster than choosing the tool for drawing certain established shapes.
Another enhancement involves the appearance of a new tool: Virtual Segment Delete tool, this will allow the user to eliminate certain segments of an object’s outline. Maybe because the Eyedropper and Paintbucket tools were restricted only to the transference of color in the past, now they have more: e.g. they can transfer transparency between objects.
The one application that has not been changed much was Photo-Paint , the only new tool was the Touch-up brush.
The rest of the suit includes the following: Corel CAPTURE 12, Corel R.A.V.E. 3, CorelTRACE 12, SB Profiler, Bitstream Font Navigator, and Duplexing Wizard. Corel has greatly enhanced the compatibility with Microsoft products and has the possibility to export them to the main applications.
On the whole I think Corel outrivaled their competitors. |
